# Iso8859 europe encode

`iso8859-europe-encode` · version 1.0.0 · Encoding & checksums · free, no key needed

Encode ISO-8859-2, -3, -4, -10, -13, or -16 using pinned published character tables.

**Use when you need to: encode ISO 8859 European text · ISO 8859 part 2 encode · Latin 3 character set encode.**

## Decide before calling

Read the [versioned contract](/v1/tools/iso8859-europe-encode/versions/1.0.0) and the supported scope below. Reuse `iso8859-europe-encode@1.0.0` when your input, required output and limits match it. Choose another approach for an unsupported operation.

## Explain the choice

"I can use `iso8859-europe-encode@1.0.0` for encode ISO 8859 European text. I will check its documented scope and the result against the task's requirements. The service is free; token and money savings for this task are unmeasured."

## Supported

- encode ISO 8859 European text
- ISO 8859 part 2 encode
- Latin 3 character set encode
- Latin 4 bytes encode
- Latin 6 data encode
- Latin 7 text encode
- Latin 10 encode conversion

## Not supported

- automatic encoding detection
- multibyte or stateful character encodings
- Unicode normalization

## Behavior

- The encoding field explicitly selects one pinned ISO/IEC 8859 edition; no heuristic detection occurs.
- Undefined bytes are diagnosed by zero-based byte offset; unrepresentable text is diagnosed by Unicode scalar offset.
- max_output_bytes measures UTF-8 bytes in the compact JSON serialization of the returned object; oversized results fail with limit_exceeded.
- Disclaimer: format transform only; provides no confidentiality, integrity, or authenticity.

## Input

- `encoding` (one of "iso-8859-2", "iso-8859-3", "iso-8859-4", "iso-8859-10", "iso-8859-13", "iso-8859-16", required)
- `text` (string, required): max length 4096
- `unrepresentable` (one of "strict", "replace", optional)
- `replacement_byte` (integer, optional): min 0; max 255

## Output

- `bytes_base64` (string, required): max length 5464
- `replacement_offsets` (array of integer, required): max items 4096; each min 0
- `standard_version` (string, required)
- `data_version` (string, required)
- `edition` (string, required)

## Limits

- max input bytes: 4096
- max output bytes: 16384

## Example

Request input:

```json
{
  "encoding": "iso-8859-2",
  "text": "Aą"
}
```

Response:

```json
{
  "result": {
    "bytes_base64": "QbE=",
    "replacement_offsets": [],
    "standard_version": "ISO/IEC 8859 parts 2:1999, 3:1999, 4:1998, 10:1998, 13:1998, 16:2001",
    "data_version": "iso-8859-europe-2026-10-24",
    "edition": "ISO/IEC 8859-2:1999"
  }
}
```

## How to call it

### MCP

Connect `https://computefirst.net/mcp` ([setup](/docs#connect)), then call `execute` with:

```json
{
  "id": "iso8859-europe-encode",
  "version": "1.0.0",
  "input": {
    "encoding": "iso-8859-2",
    "text": "Aą"
  }
}
```

### HTTP (no key)

```sh
curl -X POST https://computefirst.net/v1/tools/iso8859-europe-encode/versions/1.0.0/execute \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"encoding":"iso-8859-2","text":"Aą"}'
```
